The Row

Actresses turned designer duo Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s luxury fashion brand ‘The Row’ has taken on a retro ’50s theme for this autumn winter. The beautiful pieces have created such inspiring and memorable impressions that it’s hard to believe the catwalk collection is only the duo’s second presentation for an autumn/winter collection.

The brand was established in 2007, with a mission statement ‘to make the perfect luxurious T-shirt,’ and ‘to offer bespoke tailoring to modern-day classics.’ The brand has grown over the the last few years to include more product lines, keeping to their motive of steering away from trends, but focussing instead on creating beautiful tailored classics with sharp sophisticated lines, and refined silhouettes, something which is seen quite strongly in this collection.

The vintage feel is channelled through the large furred hats, and low hemline coats with clinched waists. Teamed with minimalist make up and Merlot lips, ultimate chic retro glamour is embraced.

The collection also shows a classic monochromatic theme with the clean lined signature style taking more of centre stage through ankle grazing over-coats and dresses. An androgynous touch is also present with shirt collars and tailored shorts.

In what has been a busy year of new ventures for the twins brand, the first handbag collection has also been released. I’ve been lusting over the snakeskin rucksack in particular, the perfect combo of practical and chic!
