All Things Bright & Beautiful

I'm loving all the brightness taking over for this spring summer! I've been having to check out net-a-porter.com quite a bit for my recent uni exam (talk about a deterrent!) and been dazzled by the neon fuchsias, citruses, flamingo pinks and soft faded fluros that seem to have taken over the accessories department! Sunglasses at the ready, I've put a couple of my favourite pics and accessories together!

The Pierre Hardy backpack, top left, has go to be one of my favourite out-there pieces. Alongside Alexander McQueen's stud-back tangerine pumps.

Brian Atwood's blue and white stripe canvas wedges remind me of the sea-side, candy floss theme of Mulberry's latest campaign. Brighton here we come!

Latest edition of Vogue with its lovely sun-faded brights!

Fluro-frenzy; I found this shot on net-a-porter's fashion fix diary.

Versace for H&M; Cruise Collection

After much anticipation, Versace's second collaboration with H&M, the Cruise Collection has been released exclusively online today! Drawing a finale to the luxury meets high street relationship, the cruise collection brings retro 50's inspired glamour in a range of cute candy coloured swimwear, sleepwear, dresses and accessories, and in my opinion appears to be a much stronger collection than the A/W collection released back in November.

Modelled by the gorgeous Abbey Lee Kershaw, the collection's campaign images appear to be reminiscent of long lost summers with an alluring nostalgic feel created by hazy photo filter hues, and naturally captured images.

Below are some of the collection's womenswear pieces, with what appears to be the signature cutsie fruit pattern print featuring on silk garments and bold accessories.

The matching bikini set and  summer shorts have definitely jumped to the top of my summer wish list already! (Yes, I do know it's only the end of Janurary now!)

Bikini Set £24.99
Shorts, £24.99.

What do you all think?

Golden Globes 2012: Neutral Notion

This year's Golden Globes saw the red carpet delicately dominated with Hollywood stars adorned in ultra feminine dresses in neutrals, nudes and pinks. With a mixture of tiered and gathered chiffons, organzas, satin silks and lace, and plenty of fishtail skirts and structured bodices, the gorgeous dresses had an air of bridal wear about them. Here are some of my favourite picks!

Angelina Jolie lived up to her last name as usual and looked stunning in an unusual colour combination of nude with red detail Versace gown. I think we'll all be taking style notes from the matching accessories and lipstick!

Angeling Jolie in Versace. Amanda Peet. Kate Beckinsale in Roberto Cavalli.

However my personal look of the night must be the gorgeous Charlize Theron, in a dramatically unique Dior gown. With a low plunge neck-line, the plush over sized bow and clasped waist added an alluring texture, drawing attention to the thigh high split and fishtail trail. Complete with a sparkling head band and delicate complimentary clutch and stud earrings, the look oozed Hollywood glamour.

What's your favourite look?

The silver lining

I seem to find any reason possible to procrastinate, whether its cleaning my room, or 'essential' clearing out of junk, the 'de-cluttered room, de-cluttered mind' notion seems to be very much favourable over doing any university work! This time however, the culprit of my procrastination is my new Canon 550D camera.
After my student house was burgled just a few weeks before Christmas, my housemates and I were left laptop-less, I-pod less and not to mention Camera-less. (Happy Christmas to us!)But luckily Santa took form as an insurance company and my camera was unexpectedley replaced with one much superior!

Below are a few of my tester shots, with no editing but just simply a cinematography photo filter, it really is an amazing camera!

Topshop SS12 Collection Preview

Despite Christmas day being just over a week ago, there appears to be no rest on the fashion front as the Spring Summer 2012 collections are already waiting to be released, hot on the heels of the winter season. With Topshop releasing it's SS12 preview collections online today, naturally my addiction to the brand meant that all other things I had planned for the day had to be pushed aside so I could whittle around the site to choose my favourite items, and so here they are! Featuring garments and accessories from the the Jungle' 'Hide and Seek,' '90's Redux' and 'Under the Sea' collections, there seems to be no limitations on teaming prints and colours from a variety of colour palettes. The floral print patterned pieces are particular favourites, especially with the shirts' asymmetric hems and the cutsie element of the back to school backpack.

The 90's Redux collection sees a move from past winter collection's Aviator jackets with the return of the Bomber Jacket. Something that has not graced the shelves in force since the late 1970's. Available in clashing prints and bold colours, there's no doubt the re-juvenated jacket will be the statement piece of any outfit come the summer.

I also love the bubblegum pop shades and faded fluorescents, bringing in a nostalgic edge to the season's trends. (Although I don't think I've worn a sock with a frill trimming since a very young age when socks and shoes were teamed with matching party dresses, and our biggest concern was whether there would be enough jelly and ice cream... those were the days.)
