Did anyone else manage to become completely addicted to the live streaming of the Met Gala 2012 last night? I only popped it on 'briefly' whilst I was winding down for the evening and before I knew it, it was multiple beautiful dresses later and I was wholeheartedly up watching it till the end! Without trying to sound too much of a tech geek, it's times like these where I really do love technology as it was the first time the Met Gala was streamed live and it was nice to able to share the action with the trans-atlantic tweeters taking over my tweet feed!
After last years spectacular showcasing the 'Savage Beauty' exhibition from Alexander McQueen, this year The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art is paying homage to two iconic Italian designers, Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada, and the exhibition is entitled "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations." My favourite dresses of the night are as follows.
First up and possibly my favourite; Gwyneth Paltrow really paying homage to Prada in this gorgeous grey/lilac sequined pocket dress. I love the low cut back on it and the mix of silk and sequins!

Mia Wasikowska: Probably my second favourite look of the evening from none other than Prada..again" Its conservative yet gorgeously chic with its sequined neck collar and waist detail on beautifully tailored burgundy fabric.

Carey Mulligan; Again looking lovely in Prada with this gold shimmering fish scale-like sequined dress.

Nina Dobrev: Wearing a Donna Karen dress. Love the gold shading and the long trail.

Chloe Sevigny looking effortlessly cool in Miu Miu, it seems big disc sequins were a running theme of the evening!

Coco Rocha: Looking the epitome of summer in this sunny yellow vintage Givenchy Jumpsuit and newly dipped pink hair! Here are a few pics from her twitter before the event!

Amber Heard: In a gorgeous Zac Posen dress, Amber looked every inch red carpet worthy.

Karolina Kurkova: I know this look has split opinions but I personally love how this long sleeved full length dress from Rachel Zoe embodies a glamorous retro edge.

Amy Adams: Looking beautiful in an Giambattista Valli two tone dress. The mix of black and white is particularly chic, I'm just not too keen on the waist bow!
