Graduation Day; Photo Diary

Last month I had my graduation from the University of Manchester! It's taken me a while to get the snaps together but I thought I would put together a little photo diary of the day! Although initially it was pouring down, (classic Manchester), luckily the weather managed to hold off after the ceremony so we could take some pics of us all in the graduation capes. Harry Potter, eat your heart out.

It was a lovely day overall and I was wearing an Oasis swallow print dropped hem dress, Zara cream blazer, and Gold Collar necklace from Miss Selfridge. I did admittedly feel a little summery for the day, but hey it was supposed to be summer and we were going to dress like it! After successfully managing to not fall over collecting my scroll in the ceremony (always a win), we went for some lovely high tea in Harvey Nichols. The Green tea was AMAZING and the little cakes were just delicious, oh and the fresh cream and scones.. I could go on! I definitely recommend going there if you're celebrating or just fancy treating yourselves to afternoon tea! The views were also pretty beaut over the centre!

Now I've just got to come to terms with fact I am officially a 'grown up'. Well on paper anyway!

I hope you're all having a lovely and relaxing bank holiday weekend whatever you're doing! If you get a chance and would like to vote my blog for the Next Newcomer Award at this year's cosmo blog awards please do! It's the last week to vote :)

The Warrior Collection; from Dixi

Hi everyone! As a complete and utter jewellery junkie, I'm very excited to show you all the new collection from the gorgeous online store Dixi. I first discovered Dixi through Twitter (@shopdixi) and it was love at first sight! The 'Warrior Collection' features a Navajo inspired set of earthy jewellery and clothing with a few elements of a tougher edge representing a warrior side! The pieces themselves are so affordable it could almost justify owning the whole collection, however with an intention to be sensible, below are a few of my favourite picks!

I love the mystical-rainbow gem stones of the rings, I know I won't be the only one to say they remind me a lot of the mood rings my friends and I used to collect when we were younger! (Mine always used to turn bluey-grey, which I think apparently means I'm happy! Whether the science behind this is correct who knows, but I'll take it!) Speaking of friends, how amazing are the woven friendship bracelets as well?

At the moment I'm also loving the punk-inspired trend of plentiful spikes and studs. These cuff bracelets and rings are definitely the perfect fix and they look great teamed together!(See the pic below)

Bar from the lovely jewellery pieces there lots of vintage sheer shirt dresses and blouses available which are perfect to throw on in the summer evenings.  My favourite is this gorgeous 'Elle pattern shirt dress'. Available here. It's so feminine and floaty and I love how it's been nipped in at the waist with a classic belt!

£26.00
The Warrior collection is now available online, just click here.

What do you all think of the new Warrior Collection? Have any of you bought from Dixi before?

Born and raised in a summer haze ; Summer Sale Picks

Finally we've had a glimpse of the supposed summer! And with summer of course comes the sales! I usually really struggle to pick up many discounted pieces, mainly because of my lack of patience admittedly, but this time I stuck it out and managed to hunt out a couple of bits at absolute bargain prices in New Look, Topshop and Oasis!

My first steal the polks dot trilby hat from Oasis! I've always loved a good hat, perfect for protecting your hair from the heat of course, but it can add a lot more to a simplistic outfit for festivals or beach wear! This one I bought for a tenner, but it's now gone down to £8!

I also got involved with some serious accessories with these rings :) The large gold one is from Topshop for £2.50! In complete honesty it does hinder quite a lot of movement and wearing this almost makes me feel like I'm wearing some sort of finger guard, or hand shield but I love the Aztec look of it and it's statement appeal. The turquoise stone ring is not so much of a sale pick up, but was part of a set from H&M for £2.99!
I tried to create some beachy waves with my hair by adding the classic salt and water mixture. It did create a nice texture however it really dried my hair out with my dip-dyed ends, so I recommend hitting the intensive conditioner the wash after!
Tortoise Shell Wayfarers from Topshop £16
Now I'm all finished at my summer job all I need is a last minute holiday deal to wear this summers outfit on! Have any of you managed to pick up some summer deals?
