Millennial Pink

Pink Teddy Bear Coat - Topshop
Stripe Jumper - Next
Over the knee boots - New Look
The Teddy Bear Coat has no doubt got to have been the coat of the season, so when I spotted this perfect pink number in the Topshop sale I knew it would be the answer to my winter sartorial dreams!   Long, cosy and unstructured, with dreamy big statement buttons, it's just like wrapping yourself up in a fluffy warm hug. I'm so in love with the millennial pink colour of it too, err so yes... millennial pink is very much a thing it seems now, but when I've come to write about it I've got to hold my hands up and admit, I've had no idea how to describe it! To think that a new shade of pink has been created when there are a helluva lot of shades already out there is a bit cray, but I can assure you millennial babes, it has very much been given the thumbs up as a pantone shade in its own right. Glamour have described it as 'Pink with the blue taken out of it,' whilst the Guardian have dubbed it a 'grapefruit shade of apricot salmon'. Hmmm, doesn't quite have the same tasty appeal when you describe it like that does it? But either way I am very much a fan so, welcome to my wardrobe millennial pink! You'll no doubt have seen it up and down the catwalk to basically gracing everything on the rails in Zara!

The best thing about this coat is it will go with so many items in your wardrobe! Greys, pinks, black, white and denim blues, you name it and this pink baby has got your back. I've teamed it with a beaut stripe sweater from Next that boasts all my fave the pastel shades and these super comfy grey jeans and OTK boots from New Look (similar here). (Also an ideal way to add some extra warmth on a cold day I might add) and we all need that now January is not giving us a break from the cold!  So on that note, I'm off to grab myself a mug of hot chocolate and start scouring the Spring collections to find some more pops of millennial pink to add to my wardrobe - its no doubt here to stay this SS18 and I couldn't be happier about it!

Hobbs NW3 Circle Lace Dress

1.White NW3 Circle Lace Dress // £179 // c/o Hobbs   2. Nude Snakeskin Clutch // £25 // Miss Selfridge (Old)  3.White Blazer // £50 // Topshop (Similar Here)  4.Turqouise Long Pendent // £10 // Accessorize  5. Rose Gold Mesh Watch // £25 // c/o Next  6. Patent Nude Heels // £15 // Marks & Spencer (Similar Here)
Hello lovelies! This is a little summery post before I head off to Thailand tomorrow! (Soooo excited!) So I'll be a little quiet for a week or so! I was asked by the lovely people at Hobbs to style up one of their occasion wear dresses and fell completely in love at first sight with this gorgeous crochet NW3 lace circle dress. It's so pretty and delicate with it's geometric cutwork circles and nude/pink underlay, it's perfect to dress up for a wedding or summer event! It has a gorgeous fit too, coming in at the waist and pleating gently out through the skirt to sit flatteringly over your hips - a real plus if like me you're a little self-concious of that area! I have to say though one of my favourite parts of this dress is that back! How cute is the lace bat wing on it? It almost lends itself  to a matching crop and skirt combo which I love!

I decided to team this pretty number with my chunky rose-gold watch from Next and statement clutch from Miss Selfridge, adding a gentle pop of colour to the outfit with turquoise accents. I recently got my nails done with a summer bright, blue shellac at my favourite local salon - Earl's & Co. in Cheltenham, if you're ever near by make sure you pop in! - which I think sets off the colour too! For my summer event look I opted for keeping my shoes nude, however I really think if you wanted to add some sky-scraper coloured numbers that would really work too!

What do you all think of the look?

Next 'New In' Event at the Soho Hotel!

Last week was a super fun (if a tad busy) blogging week with a couple of events going on that I was lucky enough to attend! First up was the Next 'New In' event in London on Wednesday! I always love a trip to London for the Next events, the team are so so fun, lovely and welcoming and they really know how to spoil us bloggers! I arrived at the gorge Soho Hotel just off Oxford Street and headed up to the top floor to the most beautiful suite which Next had taken over for the day! I was immediately met with smiles, a delicious platter of food & mocktails, and surrounded by rails of pretty clothes and leopard statues, you can't ask for much better start than that!

After tucking into some delicious lunch and chatting with lots of lovely bloggers, myself and Em ventured into the beauty room to get our nails done. I had never unfortunately met Em before, even though we were up for the same Cosmo Blog award in 2012, so it was so great to finally meet her - she really is as lovely as she is on her blog and Youtube! In the Beauty Room you could get your hair done in some beauts styles by 'Blow Ltd' and the ladies from 'I Made it Myself' were painting nails and creative nail art inspired by the new Summer Prints for the new collection. Pretty nifty, huh? I opted for a baby pastel pink and some 'statement' nail art in purple and white. The lady who did my nails was so talented and did it all free hand like it was nothing, I can't even paint my left hand well, let alone create flowers! Em had a bit more of a tropical style created for her with a nude base and bright floral detail.

After taking a few fun bathroom selfies of Becca, Em, Steph and Olivia on Instagram (I don't think that Bathtub could've been any bigger!) I checked out all the clothes and got in the summer mood! My favourite pieces were all from the Pastel rails which had an array of cute pinks, mints, pale blues and cream pieces that were right up my street. I fell just a little bit in love with the pinky pleated dress! The accessories and shoes were also pretty lustworthy too with some amazing box clutches, sunnies, espadrilles & sandals to team your pastel look with. Thank goodness it's not too long to wait to get your hands on these beauties as they're due to launch in May!

I'd planned on trying to get a sneaky visit to Oxford Street for a bit of shopping before I had to head back to Cheltenham, but I had such a fab, relaxing time I ended up whittling away the whole day there spending a couple more hours browsing, chatting and enjoying tasty afternoon tea. (Queue my bank account sighing with relief) so a big thank you again to the lovelies at Next!

Blood Orange & Leopard Print

Deena & Ozzy Parker Buckle Chelsea Boots // £75 // Urban Outitters    Blood Orange Knit Jumper // £24.99 // H&M   Leopard Print Clutch // N/A // c/o Next      Black Jessie Jeggings // £28 // Oasis

Helloooo Mixbagers! Today's post brings a bright and breezy casual day outfit that I recently coined together. A slouchy jumper and jeans is by no means groundbreaking but sometimes it really is the simple things that I love! This blood orange jumper has become a big old fave recently with it's sassy brightness, cosy chunky knit and perfectly long sleeves - that sounds odd but you know that snug length when a jumper sits comfortingly long enough over your hands? Well, that.. please say it's not just me?!
It goes with a whole array of colours from greys, blue jeans to whites and is so easy to wear it's become very much a staple in my wardbrobe!

I love to throw in a print with this kind of bold colour, if anything just to set it off and inject a bit of fun into a simplistic outfit. This little leopard print leather clutch-come-shoulder strap bag from Next has been perfect to carry a few essentials out and about! It even has a faux-fur feel it too. Ooohhh.

Onto my next favourite thing these BOOTS. I had to capitalize that purely because I have so much love for them! After puppy destroyed my apparently very chew-able black Oasis ankle boots (R.I.P my little suede numbers) I used an Urban Outfitters discount code to purchase these beauts! In all honesty I have never bought shoes from UO before but these Deena & Ozzy Chelsea boots are amazing. I love the buckle detail style of them and whenever I have them on, the cuban style heel and sole feel pretty damn sturdy - which comes as a nice change to alot of the cheapy pair of boots I've bought in the past!

What do you think of this outfit?

Next SS14 Press Day

Last Wednesday I headed on down to London for the day to hit up a couple of SS14 press days! I can't believe how quickly this last year has gone, it feels just like yesterday I was heading down to check out all the newbie SS13 goodies! But nevertheless I excitedly grabbed my copy of 'Mad About The Boy' popped my Oyster card in my pocket and headed to the train station. My first stop of the day was at Next, which was being held in the Film Museum in Covent Garden. After a couple of delayed trains I finally made it there about an hour later than planned and trawling through the pouring rain trying to find the way- I'm not too London-lingual so completely relied on my phone, thank goodness for Google Maps (and my fedora hat) hey!

As soon as I arrived I immediately felt like I'd stepped into a different season with all the lovely summery-ness displayed and had a good look through all the new collections layed out in Womenswear. I have to say Next have really pulled it out the bag for next years trends- the accessories and little bomber jackets in particular were amazzzeee balls and I developed multiple crushes on little cute cut-out brogues, heels and tote bags. Check out the quilted leather backpack too, so perfect! The main collections that stuck out to me were the mustard & monochrome with all the fluffy jumpers, brocade jackets and the casual denim & blues with oversized sweatshirts and denim shirts. I'm excited to see them in the Next stores in 2014 in summer!

After having a good rifle through I spotted the lovely Becca from Fashion Train snapping away (who's blog I have been reading for agggeess) so thought I would go over and say hi! I then luckily met lots of my favourite other bloggers too who were all so so lovely and enjoyed chatting with them all over a few cucumber & elderflower 'bomb' cocktails and yummy canapes! After having a good long gossip with the fab Kirsty from Fashion Champagne and meeting some of the Next ladies too, Amy (Wolf Whistle) , Kristabel (I Want You To Know) and I decided we should probably take a little more of a walk round and checked out the beauty room and homewear bits!
In the gorgeous beauty hub the Next ladies were giving everyone complimentary manicures and blow drys. It was a shame I had ran out of time otherwise I would've definitely got my hair joojed up a bit after being totally rained on!

The Beauty Room

How gorgeous are all the shabby chic homewear bits? I've also now decided I would like a wooden boat and oars in my future house. Maybe I'll have to swap a sofa for it? Totally do-able though, right.....

What do you all think of Next's SS14 collection?
