Rihanna can talk that talk and walk that walk

I've always been a fan of Rihanna, but with her recent album release 'Talk that Talk' along came this amazingly cool photo shoot as part of the digital booklet and it's safe to say the girl can take a pretty damn good photo too. Shot by Ellen Von Unwerth, I can't quite get enough of the retro/urban vibe of the shoot, with Rihanna casually pulling off the denim on denim, hints of grunge and 50's bandanna tied up do like it should be an obvious combination. I particularly love the effortless street setting, vintage film grain of the photos and all the opposing fashion.

So much so I'm seriously considering a desktop wallpaper upgrade... don't judge me..

Winter Favourites

Here are some of my favourite pieces from the high street this week! I seem to have caught the animal bug as un-intentionally alot of the pieces are embracing either the faux Dalmatian, feather or leopard print that has been taking over this season!

In particular, River Island's attachable faux fur print collar is one of my favourite items with it's ability to instantly inject some of this season's fashion and re-invent any basic coat. Perfect for those penny watchers amongst you!

1. River Island, Dalmatian Faux Fur Collar, £13.
2. Oasis, Embellished Collar Top, £38.
 3. Accessorize, Owl Feather Earrings, £7.
4. Topshop, Klover Gold Trim Suede Slippers, £52.

Fend off the cold with an over sized coat, as bigger still remains to be better with androgynous tailoring and sharp finishes. Why not team with an over sized clutch as a statement accessory to complete the look!

5. New Look, Paperbag Skirt, £24.99.
6. River Island, Oversized Envelope Clutch, £30.
7.Topshop, Oversized Boyfriend coat by Izzy Lane, £220.
 8. Republic, Glass heart and Tassel Necklace, £6.99.

Temperley For Filofax

As geeky as it may be it's no secret that I love a good bit of stationery. Give me a nifty pen and a trusty notepad and you'll be a friend for life. guaranteed. So it'll come as no surprise that I got a little overexcited earlier this week when I discovered that two of my absolute favourite things, Fashion and Stationery were combining as British designer Alice Temperley will be creating two luxury limited edition organisers for Filofax!

From the sketch designs released, the collection 'Your Life in Your Hands' will feature two super stylish organisers that appear not to be only beautiful on the outside with  features of leopard print, snakeskin and golden embroidery but beautifully designed on the inside as well, with a mobile phone holder as a shiny new feature!

Alice has commented on her collaboration saying "I was inspired to create a beautiful functional organiser that could be used and treasured daily, year after year." The organisers are said to be launched in London Fashion Week in February.. I now know what's being added to my (optimistic) Christmas wish list!

Diamond in the rough

This gorgeous embellished shirt from Warehouse has jumped straight to the top of my wish list! At an affordable £50 the cream sheer shirt drapes well, and has tapered sleeves for extra fit and detail. I love the uniqueness of the embellishment choice, with a mixture of gold metal tabs and sparkling diamante pieces giving it an extra edge. Perfect to wear tucked in to a high waisted circle skirt, or just to glam up a pair of black skinny jeans.

Red Label Looks

From all the shows at London Fashion Week, I have been feeling most inspired by Vivienne Westwood's Red Label S/S'12 creative and endearing make-up and hair looks.

As far as the make-up goes, metallic and colour pressed shading has been used to highlight facial contours, with brightly mixed ocean hues of green and blue framing the eyes. Little to no eyeliner or mascara has been used lending the looks to a fantastical, whimsical, out-of-the-woodlands appeal.

To compliment the make-up, hair is tousled, backcombed, messy and piled high, with grey shading and plaiting for extra details. In some looks, plastic and leaf shapes have been complied into a hair turban for an alternative new-age appeal on the look.

With metallic shades being at the fore-front of make-up must-haves this season, it will come as no surprise that these theatrical looks have come straight from the on-trend, boundary pushing Alex Box at MAC. Alex's inspiration for the label was ‘Neo neon nymphs with an ethereal base, amazing and bruised colours for an airbrushed look.’

Style Crush on Charlotte Free

18-year old model Charlotte Free has been putting her last name to use, brightening up the modelling world with her self-styled vibrant pink and platinum blonde tresses.

From shopping arcade to catwalk, the refreshingly quirky model has has been picked for show after show this autumn winter flaunting her unique style in London, Paris and New York for the likes of Topshop Unique and Vivienne Westwood.

With an intriguingly comfortable capability to pull off such a strong hair statement that chanels a rock-grunge vibe, yet still retain a girl-next-door edge, she is my latest style crush to date and definitely one to look out for.
